Pleiotrophin (Human) – PTN | Heparin-Binding Growth Factor (Neurite Outgrowth-Promoting Factor) Pleiotrophin (PTN) belongs together with Midkine to the Heparin-Binding Growth Factor (Neurite Outgrowth-Promoting Factor) family. PTN is expressed in the central and peripheral nervous system during embryonic and postnatal development. Additionally, Pleiotrophin plays an important role in tumor angionesis and is involved as growth and angiogenetic factor in onset, invasion, and metastatic process of many tumors.
