Ac-YVAD-AMC | Substrate for Caspase-1/4 The tetrapeptide substrate with the sequence Ac-Tyr-Val-Ala-Asp-AMC | Ac-YVAD-AMC is widly used for the determination of caspase 1 (ICE) activity in apoptotic cell lysates. Ac-YVAD-AMC will be cleaved by caspase 1 between the aspartic acid residue and the amino methyl cumaric acid. The released fluorogenic AMC can easily quantified by a commonly used spectrofluorometer. Pour 770 µl DMSO into the vial. Shake carfully until all the contents will be disssolved. This procedure furnishes a 10 mM solution of the substrate. The DMSO solution of Ac-YVAD-AMC is stable at – 20° in the dark.

Synthetic Product

A trace of impurity might be detectable by TLC when 100 µg is applied to the plate. The amount of contamination detectable by HPLC is less than 2 %.
