Inhibitor for Arg-GingipainThe cysteine protinases Arg-gingipain and Lys-gingipain where produced from bacterium Porphyromonas gingivalis. Carbobenzoxy-Lys-Arg-CO-Lys-N-(CH3)2 (KYT-1) can be used as potent and selective inhibitor against Arg-gingipain, whereas Lys-gingipain is blocked selectively by the small peptide Carbobenzoxy-Glu(NHN(CH3)Ph)-Lys-CO-NHCH2Ph (KYT-36).
