MCD-Peptide | Voltage-Dependent K+ Channel Blocker Mast Cell Degranulating (MCD) Peptid, a 22 amino acid residue peptide amide, was originally isolated from the venom of the honeybee Apis mellifera. MCD Peptide may release histidine from the mast cells and is an interesting tool in the research of allergy and inflammation. MCD-Peptide and Dendrotoxin-I are two ion channel blockers of fast activation and slow inactivation K+ channels. The biological activity of Mast Cell Degranulating Peptide is examined by the Division of Pharmacology, Peptide Institute, Inc.
