The biological activity of our peptide PACAP-38 is examined by the Division of Pharmacology, Peptide Institute, Inc. The neuropeptide PACAP-38 | Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase Activating Polypeptide 38, was originally isolated from hypothalamus. PACAP-38 shows higher activity than vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) in stimulating adenylate cyclase. This multifuncional neuropeptide acts also as inhibitor for gastrin secretion. PACAP-38 and its N-terminal analog PACAP-27 interacts with the type I receptor in same manner, whereas both peptides have much lower affinity to the type II receptor.
